Rows of Lavender Shawl

knit shawl

Wrap yourself up in this lightweight, but highly textured knit. You’ll love working through each stitch section and practicing everything from cables to picots within a single project. The heathered tones of this hand-dyed yarn help the texture pop without interference.

The pattern includes written directions as well as a chart to knit the lace sections. The shawl starts along center of top edge and increases at both side edges on every row after the set-up rows (except for some of the edging rows).

Note: This pattern was previously published by KnitCrate in June 2019. KnitCrate closed their operation in Dec. 2022 and reverted the copyright back to me as the designer.

Hearts in Love Mosaic Scarf

Mosaic Crochet Scarf

This “reversible” scarf is nice and heavy to keep your neck warm during cold winter weather. The hearts always face up when draped around the back of the neck. When using 2 contrasting colors, the heart design really pops! Wear this scarf for a special Valentine’s Day or any day of the year to share your love with others!

The scarf is made in the Spike SC Mosaic Crochet technique, with only one color used in each row and all rows worked on the right side. My COM technique is used to eliminate virtually all of the tails/ends of yarn!

The pattern includes full written instructions for each row of the scarf, a mosaic chart to follow (if you prefer to use charts), instructions and step-by-step photos for the Spike SC stitch and for using my COM technique, a check list to keep track of which row you’re working in the pattern, as well as the full yardage needed to crochet the scarf, using the COM technique.

Sashiko Mosaic Crochet Rug

mosaic crochet rug

This Mosaic Crochet Rug design was inspired by Japanese Sashiko embroidery patterns. It is worked in the Spike DC Mosaic Crochet technique, with one color used across each row. Each row is worked on the right side, beginning and ending each row. After crocheting the rows in this rug, extra strands of yarn are added on the left and right edges to turn the tails/ends into fringe, so there are no ends to weave in! With this fabulous Mosaic Crochet technique, the rug is completely reversible!

This rug is made with super bulky (#6) weight yarn. The pattern includes full written instructions, as well as a chart and many step-by-step photos. Two downloads are included: one with the extra photos and one without (for using less ink/toner when printing the pattern). This pattern is written in a short style (with information about how to read this style of pattern), for ease of following the pattern. Here is a sample of that style:

“With RS facing, join MC1 with sc in first st; *[SPdc, ch, sc 2] twice, SPdc, ch, sc, ch,…”

Microwave Bowl Cozy

microwave bowl cozy

This quick, easy-to-make Microwave Bowl Cozy is great to keep you from burning your fingers when removing food from the microwave!

The cozy will fit bowls of about 6” diameter at the top, 3 ½” diameter at bottom and 2” high. However, the cozy will accommodate many different similarly sized bowls.

When using 100% cotton yarn, the cozy should be able to be used in the microwave, along with a microwave-safe bowl, for a short period of time without harm to the cozy or bowl. The cozy can also be used to keep your hands from getting too cold when eating ice cream from a bowl!

This cozy is worked in rounds of single crochet, with increases strategically placed to conform to most sizes of bowls. The cozy is finished off with a round of reverse single crochet (or slip stitches) at the top edge for a nice finishing touch. Either side of the cozy can be used against the bowl as it is completely reversible.

Watch my YouTube video that goes along with this pattern.

SIZE: Approx. 12” diameter at top edge (folded flat)

Note: This Bowl Cozy fits a soup/cereal bowl that is approx. 6 ¼” diameter and 2” tall (Corelle). The cozy should stretch to fit many similar sized bowls and your cozy may turn out larger/smaller due to your personal tension/gauge.

Wedding Rings Throw

knit throw

knit throw

I’ve admired the geometric pattern in the lampshades in my master bedroom for years! So I decided to design a knit throw/blanket with this striking pattern in it. This design reminds me of the quilt pattern, Wedding Rings, so hence the name of this lovely pattern!

This throw is worked in the Mosaic Knitting technique, which was made popular by Barbara Walker many years ago. The pattern includes complete written instructions, as well as charts.

The throw can be made in Small, Large or almost any size desired. Simply follow the included information regarding the yardage required for each repeat of the pattern to calculate the amount of yarn needed for the desired size of throw.

Using 2 solid colors of worsted weight yarn and basic knitting stitches, this throw is a joy to knit! The solid border (knit at the same time as the mosaic rows) adds more visual interest and finishes off the throw nicely!

SIZES:

SMALL: Approx. 37” wide x 37” high (94 cm x 94 cm)

LARGE: Approx. 44” wide x 58” high (112 cm x 147 cm)

Easy to Intermediate

MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn, 100% wool, 3.5 oz/100 g (210 yds/192 m) per ball
