Persimmon Flower Scarf

The Persimmon Flower scarf is made in a new reversible Overlay Mosaic crochet technique, so each side is lovely! Using 2 solid colors of DK weight yarn, the scarf is a joy to crochet and wear! There is no need for an edging on this scarf because of the stitches used. The scarf is crocheted in narrow rows, across the width of the scarf, so you’ll be less likely to lose your place in the pattern and mistakes can be easily corrected! Make your scarf any length you choose by working the 10-row mosaic pattern repeat as many times as desired.

In this scarf, a revolutionary new Mosaic Crochet technique is used called Continuous Overlay Mosaic Crochet (COM), eliminating the tails/ends at the beginning and end of each row! Also introduced in this pattern is a new stitch called an “Anchored double crochet wrong side” (AdcWS). This stitch is what makes the scarf reversible! I call this reversible technique Reversible Continuous Overlay Mosaic Crochet (REV-COM).

SIZE:

Approx. 5” wide x 42” long (12.5 x 107 cm) (2 repeats wide x 17 repeats long)

Notes:

This pattern is adjustable in width and length.

Each repeat in width adds approx. 2 1/2” (6.3 cm) in width.

Each repeat in length adds approx. 2 1/2” (6.3 cm) in length.

Additional yarn will be required for a wider and/or longer scarf.

The 5” (12.5 cm) wide x 42” (107 cm) long scarf shown in the photos weighs 101 grams total (approx. 50.5 grams of each color). If you choose to make your scarf with 1 less repeat, for a 5” (12.5 cm) wide x 39 1/2” (100.5 cm) long scarf, you could probably get by with only 1 ball of each color of the same yarn.

If you’re using 2 full balls of the same yarn, you could make a scarf with 3 repeats wide x 21 repeats long, or 7.5” (19 cm) wide x 53” (134.5 cm) long.

If you choose to use a smaller hook or heavier yarn, your yarn amounts may be different than mine.

Dueling Diamonds Blanket

Mosaic crochet is such fun to do! This blanket is a joy to crochet, using 2 solid colors (or one solid and one shaded color) of light worsted weight yarn, the overlay mosaic crochet technique and basic crochet stitches! The solid edging finishes off the blanket nicely!
Two sizes are included in the pattern: small and large.

In this blanket, my revolutionary new Continuous Overlay Mosaic Crochet technique (COM for short) is used, eliminating the tails/ends at the beginning and end of each row! To learn this new, revolutionary Mosaic Crochet technique, watch my YouTube video.

Wedding Ring Blanket

Using the Overlay Mosaic Crochet technique, 2 solid colors of worsted weight yarn and basic crochet stitches, this blanket is a joy to crochet! The solid edging finishes off the blanket nicely! Two sizes are included in the pattern: small and large.

This Overlay Mosaic Crochet Blanket design was inspired by the lampshades in my master bedroom, which I’ve admired for years! I think this geometric pattern looks great worked up into a baby/lap-size blanket (or a full-size blanket)!

Inset Mosaic Crochet Swatch Charts & Written Directions

Learn to do Inset Mosaic Crochet with these 2 FREE CHARTS and written directions, along with my FREE YouTube video. This style of Mosaic Crochet is worked with alternating right-side and wrong-side rows, which means you’ll turn your work after each row, bringing your yarn up the beginning edge of the piece, eliminating those pesky tails/ends at the beginning and end of each row on Overlay Mosaic Crochet! You won’t need to weave in the tails/ends, turn them into fringe or cover them with a double border.

Overlay Mosaic Crochet Swatch Chart

Learn to do Overlay Mosaic Crochet with this FREE CHART and my FREE YouTube video. This style of Mosaic Crochet is worked with all right-side rows, which means you’ll start and finish each row, leaving tails at the beginning and end of each row. If you’re making a mosaic crochet scarf, you can simply turn these tails into fringe without the need to weave in any ends!

In my YouTube video, I demonstrate the first 4 rows of this swatch, along with how to read the chart, where to work the stitches, how to make the Anchored dc (which I invented many years ago to eliminate gaps on the back of my mosaic crochet pieces) and how to add the fringe.

Flight of Stairs Scarf

This striking scarf is easy and fun to make in the Mosaic Crochet technique. Two contrasting solid colors are used in the scarf, with only one color used in each row. Fringe is added at the short ends to finish off the scarf. The length and width of the scarf are fully adjustable, so you can make this scarf in any size you desire using any yarn weight!

The pattern includes full written instructions for each row of the scarf, as well as 2 mosaic crochet charts, so you can follow whichever you like. It also includes step-by-step photos for working in the back bump of the foundation chain (giving a nicer look to the bottom edge of the scarf), working a special stitch (anchored dc) and adding the fringe.

Bonus: There are no tails to weave in on this scarf, since the tails are added into the fringe! Don’t we all LOVE not having to weave in tails?

Easy Rainbow Hat

This hat coordinates perfectly with the Easy Rainbow Scarf pattern. The hat pattern comes in 2 styles: one with 6 colors plus black and the other with a light color and a dark color. There are 3 sizes of hats in the pattern: small (for children), medium (for teens & women) and large (for men).

The pattern includes full written instructions for making the hat, plus many extras, such as instructions and step-by-step photos for working in the back bump of the foundation chain, joining with a dc and making the Long double crochet stitch, which is used in the crown section of the hat.

Note: The pattern comes with two PDF downloads. One download includes the step-by-step photos and the other download has less photos for ease of printing. Also, the instructions and stitch counts for each hat size are color-coded to help you follow the instructions for the hat size you’re making.

This scarf is great for beginner crocheters. The scarf is quick and easy to make, with double crochet stitches in every row. It’s fun to see the colors change when you use multi-colored yarn! Wiggly Crochet is a fun technique that is 3-dimensional! Only chains and double crochet stitches are used. A wiggly crochet chart is used for placement of the wiggly stitches. Using cotton yarn or crochet thread, wiggly crochet makes great hot pads and coasters for any home!
