Easy Clusters Baby Blanket

This reversible baby blanket is easy to make with a 2-row repeat. Because you work 2 right-side rows followed by 2 wrong-side rows, the white yarn is never finished off until the very end of the edging. This means less ends to weave in!

Use one main color and any number of contrasting yarn colors you like for a customized blanket. This can also be a great stash-busting project!

The pattern is written in US crochet terminology. Full written instructions are included, as well as a symbol crochet chart.

Watch my YouTube video HERE where I demonstrate how to crochet and finish off this baby blanket. I even demonstrate how to weave in the ends securely so they won’t come out! In the video, I crocheted a doll size blanket, just like the baby blanket, but smaller. The size of the blanket is adjustable with a 2-stitch repeat and a 2-row repeat.

Mostly basic stitches are used in the blanket: chains, single crochet, double crochet and slip stitches, with the exception of double crochet clusters, which I demonstrate how to crochet in the video.

Back and Forth Overlay Mosaic Crochet Swatch Chart

Overlay Mosaic Crochet

If you’re like me and you don’t like all the ends that are created on each row of traditional Overlay Mosaic Crochet, I’ve come up with another new technique to combat those ends/tails! I call it “Back & Forth Overlay Mosaic Crochet”.

With this FREE CHART download that accompanies my YouTube video, you’ll be able to eliminate virtually ALL the ends in your Overlay Mosaic Crochet projects! This will save not only time, but yarn (which equals money)! You won’t need to cover all the tails/ends with a double border, weave all the tails/ends in or turn them into fringe. With the addition of a simple edging to straighten out the left and right edges of your rows, your project will look fabulous!

Watch my YouTube video where I demonstrate step-by-step how to crochet “backwards” stitches (sc and dc/Adc) with your dominant hand to create all right-side rows in your Overlay Mosaic Crochet project. I also go through reading the FREE swatch chart and working the edging. And I compare several styles of Mosaic Crochet in the video.

Give this new style of Overlay Mosaic Crochet a try today!

Easter Egg Potholder

Easter Egg Potholders

What a great addition to your Easter decorating! These double thick potholders are quick and easy to make using worsted (#4) weight yarn. They’re worked in rows of single crochet throughout, with increases and decreases along the edges for shaping. Then a single crochet edging is added to smooth the edges and to form the hanging loop. With the use of 100% cotton yarn, these potholders won’t melt (like acrylic yarn will) when removing something hot from the oven.

The pattern includes full written instructions for the multi-colored potholder. A link to my YouTube video for doing an invisible join is also included, as well as my YouTube video to crochet this potholder along with me.

SIZE: Approx. 6 1/2” (16.5 cm) wide x 8” (20 cm) high, plus hanging loop
