Microwave Bowl Cozy

This quick, easy-to-make Microwave Bowl Cozy is great to keep you from burning your fingers when removing food from the microwave!

The cozy will fit bowls of about 6” diameter at the top, 3 ½” diameter at bottom and 2” high. However, the cozy will accommodate many different similarly sized bowls.

When using 100% cotton yarn, the cozy should be able to be used in the microwave, along with a microwave-safe bowl, for a short period of time without harm to the cozy or bowl. The cozy can also be used to keep your hands from getting too cold when eating ice cream from a bowl!

This cozy is worked in rounds of single crochet, with increases strategically placed to conform to most sizes of bowls. The cozy is finished off with a round of reverse single crochet (or slip stitches) at the top edge for a nice finishing touch. Either side of the cozy can be used against the bowl as it is completely reversible.

SIZE: Approx. 12” diameter at top edge (folded flat)

Note: This Bowl Cozy fits a soup/cereal bowl that is approx. 6 ¼” diameter and 2” tall (Corelle). The cozy should stretch to fit many similar sized bowls and your cozy may turn out larger/smaller due to your personal tension/gauge.
