Very Cute Crocheting Amigurumi Tips and Tricks Video

I’m excited to let you know that I’ve released 2 new YouTube crochet videos. In both of these videos, I share lots of tips and tricks to help you be successful in crocheting amigurumi animals.

In Part 1, you’ll learn how to read amigurumi patterns, crochet the pieces and do color changes.

In Part 2, you’ll learn how to stuff the pieces (how much fiberfill is enough?), 2 ways to sew the pieces together and how to embroider faces, spots, etc onto your amigurumi animals.

These are so much fun to make a play with! My grandchildren, grown children and I love them!

    Hi there Susan.
Thank you so much for sharing you amigurumi tips on YouTube.
I bought crochet 100%cotton. It’s a bit thick, but I didn’t do my homework properly before I bought it.
Should I carry on or is it best to use wool?
I’m Christo,53 year male that want to do amigurumi for an extra income. I crochet a lot as a 15 year boy.
    Just love it.
Please reply for I need advice as to rather by wool or carry on with the cotton which was very expensive.
    Regards.

      Christo,
I’m so glad that my amigurumi videos were helpful for you.
In regards to yarn, cotton yarn or acrylic yarn is good to use for amigurumi. Acrylic yarn is typically less expensive than cotton yarn. What weight is the yarn you bought? You always want to keep a fairly tight tension for your stitches with amigurumi so the stuffing doesn’t poke through the stitches. I would suggest trying the cotton yarn you bought and see if you like it, as long as it has a good twist to it. Loosely twisted yarn is not good for amigurumi!
      I hope this helps.
      Happy crocheting,
      Susan
